Adding a manager lets someone help run your Google Business Profile, respond to reviews, and create posts on your behalf. You keep full ownership. No password sharing needed.
Estimated time: 2-3 minutes.
Step 1: Open Google Business Profile
Sign in to your Google Business Profile manager.
- Go to business.google.com
- Sign in with the Google account that owns your business listing
- Select your business if you have multiple locations
Step 2: Go to Business Profile Settings
Navigate to your profile's user management area.
- Click the three-dot menu (⋮) or "More" at the top right
- Select "Business Profile settings"
- Click "People and access"
Step 3: Add Your Manager
Invite the person who will help manage your profile.
- Click the "Add" button (person with + icon)
- Enter their email address (it must be tied to a Google account)
- Set the role to "Manager"
- Click "Invite"
Important: Select the "Manager" role, not "Owner." Manager access allows them to create posts, respond to reviews, and update your profile while you retain full ownership.
Step 4: You're Done
Your new manager receives an email invitation. Once they accept it, they have access. Google limits some features for new users during the first seven days. That is normal.
Removing a Manager
Same path. Business Profile settings, then People and access, select the person, click Remove. Do this the day someone leaves your team.
What is the difference between an Owner and a Manager on a Google Business Profile?
An Owner controls everything, including who has access. A Manager can edit business info, respond to reviews, post updates, and manage photos, but cannot add users or delete the profile.
Do I have to share my Google password to give someone access?
No. Google Business Profile access is granted by role through an email invitation, so you never need to share your password.
Why can't my new manager use every feature right away?
Google limits some features for newly added users during their first seven days. That is normal and lifts automatically.
